Jib Jam & Slopestyle Events

I'll get to the exciting stuff first! I just realized I never got around to posting the Jib Jam edit! Sonny Pittman, who has been videoing and making awesome edits of the events, just posted the Slopestyle edit form last weekend so I'll post them here as well. I got a few clips in the Jib Jam edit, and I ended up winning the girls division. Since I cracked my ribs and I'm still out of commission, I didn't get to ride in the Slopestyle contest. Bummer, because it looked like tons of fun and more girls entered this time! I ended up handing out the prizes to the winners, so I have a short appearance in the Slopestyle vid! There is one more event in the Great Alaskan Terrain Park Series, the Wild Caught Banked Slalom, which is happening this weekend. I won't get to take part in that one either :( but I'll be sure and post the video recap of that one on here too!

Here's the Jib Jam edit...

Here's the slopestyle edit...

Thanks again to Sonny for the great edits, and to the sponsors: Sequence Boardshop, Borderline Boardshop, and Aurora Projekt

Great job Dustin and Sarah for organizing such fun events, and of course Eaglecrest for being the heart of it all!

ATTN: Kids Who Shred!

If you are a kid who shreds, or know a kid that can tear up the mountain, pass this info along and participate! Get sponsored by EternalSnow.com and get loads of free swag. Read the official press release below to get the full details. Good luck and happy shredding!

EternalSnow.com Looks To Sponsor Young Snowboard Athletes

SPARKS, Nevada (August 15, 2011) – EternalSnow.com, a snowboarding gear retailer, is looking to home video and social media to find the next rising snowboard talent, in a contest that pits prowess on the snow with savvy in the social media space, all with the hope to get sponsored by EternalSnow.com.

“Unfortunately for us, it is hard to get out on to the slopes to find new snowboard talent,” says Kyle Bihler, Web Administrator at EternalSnow.com. “We are looking for kids who have mastered snowboarding at a high level, but we are also interested in how they are connected to the world of social media and how the individual can create their own buzz.”

This contest to get sponsored by EternalSnow.com is different in that Eternal will be turning to the peers of these young athletes to find a winner. Eternal will allow anyone to vote on videos submitted by these eager snowboarders looking for sponsorship.

Entrants can even increase their chances of winning by utilizing Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other outlets. In addition to a poll, Eternal is taking in to consideration how viral the snowboarder and their video edit can be.

There will be two winners selected from two age groups, 5-13 and 14-18. The winners will receive full set-ups consisting of: snowboard, snowboard boots, snowboard bindings and plenty of other Eternal clothing and stickers. They will also begin, what Eternal hopes, is a career long relationship. Runners up in each category will receive enough Eternal swag to shake a stick at, as well as much deserved recognition.

Entries for this contest will be accepted from September 1 to November 30 2011. Of course everyone will have to complete and sign a "Consent and Waiver Form" confirming that you own the video and give Eternal full rights to its use. For complete rules for this contest go to www.EternalSnow.com/get_sponsored_contest.
