3AM came wayyyy too early this morning but we were so excited to get on the road we didn't even think about hitting the snooze button a bazillion times. From Beech to Nashville was pretty boring. It was still dark the majority of the way, and I've made that drive several times. It took Winter a couple hours to get settled and realize this wasn't a trip to the vet. I gave her a good dose of Bach's Rescue Remedy for pets and it sure did it's job. After she got relaxed, she slept the WHOLE way... literally the entire drive to where we are now. Here's proof:
Dustin also was on the snooze wagon almost the whole way to Nashville.
We got to Nashville around 8AM and met my friends Rachel and Raeanna for breakfast. About an hour later we were back on the road and hit St. Louis around 3PM after a long boring drive through Illinois. We wanted to go take the Arch tour but were bummed when we realized our bikes were so tall on top of the car that we couldn't get into the parking garage or find another place to park. We ended up just driving around the Arch for a few minutes checking out the scenery, including the massive Mississippi River. There was a really cool graffiti wall down by the river.
After the crazy St. Louis traffic, we finally made it to Kingdom City, which is about 2 hours away from Kansas City. 13 hours of driving was honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. I could've made it to KC if I wasn't worried about Winter... who was still sound asleep but I knew she was hungry, thirsty, and probably had to visit the litter box. We got a room at a Motel 6 (since they are pet-friendly) and now it's chill time.
We plan on making it to Denver by tomorrow night, but that's a pretty long haul, so who knows where we'll end up.
